Local 444 – Working Nonstop to Protect Our Members During These Challenging Times
The outbreak of Covid-19 and the state-wide mandate to shelter in place has opened the door for countless questions and concerns for all the members of Local 444 and their families. Know that your Union is doing everything within our capabilities to guarantee that our rights, protections, and most importantly safety as frontline workers in the face of this pandemic are met and information is available as it is presented.
Eric Larsen, President, and Joe Pangelinan, Chief Steward, have continued to meet with Senior Management as well as the Emergency Operation Team (EOT) to discuss the concerns and issues that continue to mount with all the work groups and individuals. The District has fully implemented their telecommuting capabilities and they are implementing the next phase of 2 week rotations of field staffing between essential operations for water/wastewater and paid administrative leave (reserve teams). This is a fluid response to an unprecedented emergency.
It is of the utmost importance to know that there is help if you need. Covid-19 assistance and mental health services are available through claremonteap.com.
