AB339 Signed by Governor Becoming State Law

Assembly Bill 339 (which AFSCME lobbied hard for) was just signed into law. The following statement is from Al Austin, the Political and Legislative Director for AFSCME Council 57.

FYI folks!

Great news!  Governor Newsom signed AB 339 (Ortega) yesterday.  AB 399 will require a 45 day notification and greater transparency for before RFPs for personal service contracts for public agencies covered under the MMBA.

This is a huge win for AFSCME and public service workers across the state!  Many thanks to all of our members and staff who took action to help make this win possible! The fight continues!
